Today, there are so many bands out there. Indie, mainstream, punk, rock, finding bands worth listening to is hard. One of the bands that require listening to, without a doubt, is Wallows. In the spirit of iconic bands like The Smiths and Joy Division, Wallows may have been together since 2017 but are proving to be the next big thing in music. In the vein of the amazing, timeless bands that have come before, Wallows' music invokes the old school sound of the 80s/90s music genre but keeps it modern. The band's first-ever released song was Pleaser, a song for the outsider who sits out of parties, an anthem for all homebodies, that sounds like a classic. 


   Frontman and lead singer, Dylan Minette may be recognizable as Clay Jensen on the controversial series 13 Reasons Why but he is definitely proving himself to be more than just an actor but a powerhouse vocalist. Without a doubt, Minette has an impeccable presence on stage.

The success of Wallows has only taken off. After putting out their first EP entitled Spring, Wallows released their debut album Nothing Happens. The band's biggest hit that skyrocketed Wallows to the mainstream without a doubt is Are You Bored Yet?, an anthem that pays homage to retro synth beats and is about wanting truth in a relationship. Wallows has even already performed at Coachella in 2019 and the band had a sold-out Nothing Happens tour. 
Wallows truly has a unique sound that everyone needs to give a chance. Without a doubt, songs from Wallows can be seen as timeless. This is a band that truly deserves your attention and that I truly believe could be this generation's version of The Smiths...
